In this video, posted below, Swami Nityananda, clearly explains the meaning of the word ‘prayer’ and what it means to be a seeker. He says the devotee, should never go in the front of the God like a beggar.
Nityanda gives the example of the sculptor, whose hand requests the eyes for help, while he is sculpting. Now the hand is no way, lesser compared to the eyes. To get the job done, it requests the help of the eyes, knowing full that, both the hand and the eyes are powered by the same body. He explains that, even while you are praying you are not away from the source.
When you go to God, to ask something, always realise that the giver and the seeker are the same.
