Ganesha : Lord of Hosts

Christians must be familiar with the bible verses

Isaiah 37:16
16 “O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, enthroned above the cherubim, you are the God, you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth.

Psalm 24:10
10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory! Selah

1 Samuel 17:45
45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

And most Christians would like to believe that is the defintion only found in the Bible, for thier Lord, the God, Heavenly father

But according to Wikipedia,

The name Ganesha is a Sanskrit compound, joining the words gana (gaṇa), meaning a group, multitude, or categorical system and isha (īśa), meaning lord or master. The word gaņa when associated with Ganesha is often taken to refer to the gaņas, a troop of semi-divine beings that form part of the retinue of Shiva, Ganesha’s father. The term more generally means a category, class, community, association, or corporation. Some commentators interpret the name “Lord of the Gaņas” to mean “Lord of Hosts” or “Lord of created categories”, such as the elements

It’s interesting to find similar words used for God in different faith system but all of them trying to convey truths in different ways. In the Bible, Lord of Hosts refers to someone who leads us in battle, whereas in Hindu way of living, it’s more about someone with all the knowledge and stated by Saduguru in the video below.
