God for sinners or saints ?

In bible, you can see verses, where Jesus despises the so called religious righteous men, even comparing them to white washed graveyards

Matthew 23:27 :

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.

And in another part we seem him spending ‘quality’ time with sinners

Bible, Mark 2:16 and 2:17
16 When the scribes of the Pharisees saw that He was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they said to His disciples, “Why is He eating and drinking with tax collectors and sinners?” 17 And hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Jesus also speaks about the love, he has for sinners

Luke 15:6
6″And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ 7“I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

By today’s standards, that would be like Jesus hangin out with gays, hookers and gamblers in jeans and t-shirt( Things which are a definite no-no for all born again Christians)

It’s also interesting to note that, the good news was first proclaimed to shepherds and herdsmen and not to kings, priests and queens

In another part of the world

It also makes you wonder the connection between Krishna and some extreme sinners in the history of mankind. Take for example Vishnu taking the ‘Varaha’ avatar just to kill one bad guy. I mean, why would he do that ? Did he know these guys before, I mean did he really want to give them the Sudarshana Chakra gift (?) ( Su – Darshana)

Keeping this in mind now read this story about Varaha avatar. I have quoted a small part from Wikipedia

The gate-keepers of Vishnu’s abode Vaikuntha, Jaya and Vijaya are cursed by the four Kumaras, sages who roam the world in the form of children, to be born as asuras (demons).

Those guys were gatekeepers at Vishnu’s place !! He wanted them to get a better darshana and Bingo, kala plays his/her game and they are born as the evil ones.

It always puzzled me thinking about the connection between the sinners and Godheads. Amazing isn’t it ?
