Okay, the word ‘church’ in the title of this post could be replaced with mosque, temple, shrine etc. But the question is, if God exists everywhere, then I why do we need to go to one of these ‘religious places’ to feel the presence of God. After all, aren’t all these places created by God ?
The best way to answer that question is to try something by yourself. Next time, please carry your lunch or dinner plate to the restroom ( toilet ) and sit on the commode and have the food. Try to see how pleasant that experience is. Now the place doesn’t have to smell or look dirty, just the prospect of having lunch or dinner other than those ‘predefined’ places like your dining room or hall, makes you uncomfortable.
This is possibly the simplest explanation I could give about the significance of doing certain activities only in certain places, be it religious or spiritual.
