The noble defender

When you become an observer and not a defender, there is a paradigm shift in your thinking and your action. Let me explain when you start observing things, without attributing too much value to it, you will start observing it like a third person, then you don’t have to defend the titles society has bestowed on you

If someone says anything against Christianity, you don’t have to make that person your enemy number one. You don’t have to fight with your tooth and nails, although you can do that.

This reminds me of a joke shared by Osho. It goes like this

Way back in 1947, India was supposed to be partitioned into two separate countries: India and Pakistan. Many families had to relocate because of their religious identity and it turned out to be one of the largest migrations in the recent history. But there was some problem. There was a mental house right at the center of the border. Since it was a madhouse, neither of the countries wanted to accept it. Both the countries requested the other country to take it to their fold. A solution could not be reached. Finally, it was decided that they must ask the inhabitants of the madhouse itself. Hence a government delegation was sent to find out which country these ‘mad men’ had to be part of’

Now they asked them if they wanted to go to India or Pakistan? So the madmen asked, will we have to go physically somewhere? The officials said no. You will stay here but then which country would you like to do. They said nowhere. Madmen asked if we are not going anywhere, why do you ask us to go somewhere?

finally, they erected a wall in between and people on one side became Indians and other side became Pakistanis. Once in while they climb the walla and sit on top
