Have you observed water boiling ? Especially if you are doing this ‘experiment’ in a large vessel, with large quantity of water. Until about the first 10 – 15 minutes, you do not see any activity at all, making you believe that the constant flame does not seem to have any effect on the water. Someone might want to switch off the stove and try something else.
But then as we approach the magic number 100 ( 100 degree celsius, boiling point of water at sea level ) we begin to see changes being manifested. And exactly at 100 degrees, the water comes to live, as if by magic, bubbles rising up, waves forming and the water begins to boil.
Isn’t this the same, in spirituality ? We struggle hard every day, constantly seeking answers and nothing comes up. Long meditation sessions, and still nothing ! Many people give up, during this initial stage. But the few who hang in there, knowing what is in store for them, they succeed. They get their answers, which they have been seeking within.
It’s a very wrong notation to assume that the journey will be one of a constant progress. But mostly, it’s rather about long time of seemingly ‘inactivity state’ then comes the torrent of sudden change of things. Hang in there buddy, the rains are coming, and all the seeds hidden under the desert plane, is going to rise up and give fruits in multitude.
