My friend shared with me a very exciting thought today – how about travelling back in time, so that we could meet great teachers, ascended masters ? Wouldn’t it be great to meet them and talk to them and learn from them ?
Another friend of mine asked me to stop wearing black clothes to office ( I had worn a black t-shirt to office today) When I enquired about the reason, my friend replied that black absorbs energy and white reflects energy. So when you are surrounded by negative people, black absorbs that energy and it would harm you and vice versa for the while color, that is, it would deflect energy from you.
I quietly enquired what if you wear white and if you meet an enlightened being or even a person filled with positive energy, won’t the color white, simply deflect it ? I mean, your only chance of getting some positive energy in this ‘cruel world’ ( tons of sarcasm intended), is totally lost, because you were wearing the wrong color that day ! So my friend quickly replied that, in the current world, negative energy people are more, so we would be better off wearing white. I gently smiled in my heart and left the discussion at that.
Both my friends had some valid points, from their point of view. Let’s step back and go back in time – almost 2000 years. It would be interesting to note that, even during Jesus’s time, majority of the people did not believe in him ( they even plotted against him and decided to crucify him), same with Krishna ( Kauravas decided to go for war against him )
During Jesus’s time, people even asked Jesus, where was the messiah, the saviour ( Mathew 11:3 ) A lot of people had trouble believing and following Buddha as well. Think about it, other than a few hundreds of people, most people were totally unaware that a saviour ( master ) was living in their generation and they could seek out for him and learn from him and may become his disciple as well. They simply didn’t know ! The world just went on merrily marrying, giving birth and dying, often talking about previous prophets or saints yet to come, but completely unaware that ascended masters walked right beside them.
My dear friend, even while you are reading this, there could be ascended masters, living among our midst and we may be totally unaware of them. We may continue to wait for them and or even ask one of these masters, where the masters are and how long should we wait ? So when my first friend talked about time travel and going back in time, I thought about the possibility of meeting great souls in this lifetime itself, who may be present right among us, may be at the place we work, or the church, temple we may be going to or even in our neighbourhood
And regarding my second friend’s suggestion that, there is more evil ( negative energy ) in the world right now, that we need to wear white clothes to protect ourselves and deflect all these energy away from us, I am reminded of a psychological tests done on criminals. They are asked, what do they think about the world ? The same question is asked to people with suicidal tendencies.
Most liars reply that, the world is full of liars and cheats. People with suicidal tendencies reply that, world is full of selfish and sad people, who have no concern or feelings. They complain about people who cheat and demean others and the overall degradation in people’s moral character. Most banned youtube videos which has recorded the monologues of high school shootout killers, minutes or hours before their crimes, reflect the same tone. They complain how bad everyone is, how bad the world is, and how much they hate everyone and want to kill everyone. Think about it my friend. The question to you, is very simple – What do YOU think of the world ? ( Yes, the world YOU is intentionally highlighted to stress the importance of that word )
Do you think the world is full of cruel, good for nothing crooks, who are out there, to get you ? or do you think the world is full of amazing people, filled with God’s positive energy and they are willing to give up their lives to bring a positive change to this world ?
Do you think, religious books and talks are more easily available to people, and thanks to better agriculture and industrial production, world hunger has drastically reduced and hence crimes which stems from that. Although there are conflicts out there, major wars have reduced considerably and more people are educated and above the poverty line than ever before. So why do you want to continue to believe, there is more ‘bad’ in the world than ever before and that you might need to wear clothes belonging to a particular color to save yourself from these evil creatures ( again sarcasm, intended ) ?
When you start seeing this bigger picture, does it really matter, what color of t-shirt or trousers you should wear to office, so that you could keep these negative people away from your life? My dear friend, I believe if you really want to reduce the effect of negative people in your life, please spend some time to convert one of these ‘negative’ people into positive ones. Who know, may be, just may be, you would be able to touch at least one person life, in this janma ( lifetime ) and actually make this world a better place, a little better than, how you found it yesterday. You might also want to reconsider your decision to travel in space time, because what you seek far away might be really close to you.
