Have you ever looked at the ‘like / unlike’ count below the ‘view’ count in YouTube ?
Even the most beautiful, soul touching song, with beautiful lyrics and music, would have hundreds and sometimes even thousands of people who ‘disklike’ it. Imagine, I am talking about songs which are masterpieces, which are disliked by people who have an interest in music !
Now imagine, if people like that are in your best friend circle, or even in your own house. Those people would simply ‘disklike’ every song you play, the poem you write or the things that you say.
So what should you do ?
Remember this, whoever you are, whatever skill you posses, there is definitely a niche group of people who enjoy and like you for what you are. Remember, Amitabh Bachchan was rejected by All India Radio for not having the right voice ! History is full of people who were rejected but these same people believed in themselves and went on to achieve greatness.
My friend, today, this amazing day, I want to tell you this. People around you are just living their lives, get up, brush, go to office/ college, come back and sleep. And repeat the same process, the next day and so on until they are no more capable of doing these tasks ! If you are looking for genuine guidance, motivation and inspiration from these kind of people, you are looking at the wrong place.
But if you do get someone, who is an expert in whatever field you want to pursue, never leave them. Make use of books, the Internet and whatever resources you can grab hold of, and make full use of them. Never leave a leaf unturned.
As my mom was telling me today, look at the seed of a Banyan tree. Although the seed look so insignificant, it has the potential to grow to such a large extent. Never forget this. There is always potential hiding in you, discover it, nourish it and then you wont’ have to ever look back.
